It is so good to hear from you, Laura. I'm so happy you're in Baltimore - do you like it? I loved working with you and all your kindness and understanding. I'll let you know if we make it that way. Weren't those early days wild? They do feel so close for some reason. It's great having Kiffen here now.

"Virginia Woolf hadn’t meant Alabama."

That made me smile.

You're such a good writer! And your dad sounds like a hoot. I love how he continues to push sports. "Go to a football game." hahaha

Just wanted to say hi and send love! Your early days in AL still seem like yesterday to me. (haha, now -I- am 47). I feel so lucky that I got to be one of your students. Tell me if you ever come to Baltimore!

Landlord of good intentions! I’m sure that’s the kind of landlord I would be too. Love it. Xo

I loved this, Kerry, and am excited to read all three of your books! And to take more notes! I go through phases when I do, but I'd love to get back to the Harriet the Spy-level of activity of my youth.

Chuckled all the way through Kerry -- I've sat in that line at the courthouse -- there might be a subgenre of Southern Gothic that takes place there. Wonder if anyone kept that piece of marble with Wallace's name carved in it?! Thank you for the inspiration.

Some of my best times were spent in writing classes in the Humanities Bldg...I think my favorite were the CNF classes (undergrad and grad)
