I’m working on worry in my fourth step in Al-Anon. I have been considering how my worry may affect my beloveds, harming them or our relationship. Anyone else spent time on this idea?
I grew up in worry - my mother grew up in worry - her mother grew up in worry - I am only now trying to break the cycle. This is such a great question. I love this quote I learned in Al-Anon. “Worrying is like paying the interest on a debt you don't owe” - Now, I don't bring my worries to my adult kids. We talk about so many other things. I bring my worries to my sponsor. I am very careful not to unload worries onto my husband even though he's a great listener - we talk things out but we no longer in the electrified state of panic, dread, and worry, which directed so much of our lives for a time. My youngest (age 13) when all this started used to say, "Do you have a meeting tonight, Mama?" because I'd come home normal or at least somewhat at peace instead of crying. Love xo
I love that opening photo of Olive and Wilbur -- their expressions, the light. Thank you!

What a wonderful story about friendship weaving in and out of our lives, a son and his parents communicating in their own way… we love you…

Sending love. I like that quote about worry. It’s hard to not worry but it doesn’t serve us and yet how does one not do it??
💖 I have no words. Sending you a hug.
Love, Love
sending love and peace to you all
